브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 유명 스포츠 브랜드 의류와 속옷에서 환경호르몬이 과다 검출됐다는 소식이 전해졌다.
17일 미국 CNN 보도에 따르면 캘리포니아 비영리단체 환경보건센터(CEH)가 지난해 10월부터 6개월간 스포츠 의류에 포함된 비스페놀A(BPA)를 분석한 결과를 발표했다.
그 결과, 레깅스(애슬레타, 챔피온, 콜스, 나이키, 파타고니아), 스포츠브라(스위티베티), 기능성티(패블틱스), 반바지(아디다스, 챔피온, 나이키) 등에서 캘리포니아 기준치인 3마이크로그램(㎍)보다 최대 40배 넘는 BPA가 검출됐다.
또한 CEH는 지난해 10월 진행한 검사에서는 애슬레타, 핑크, 아식스, 노스페이스, 브룩스, 올인모션, 나이키, 필라 등 브랜드의 스포츠브라 제품에서 기준치의 최대 22배에 달하는 BPA가 검출됐다고 발표하기도 했다.
아울러 노스페이스, 브룩스, 미즈노, 애슬레타, 뉴발란스, 리복 등의 브랜드 운동복에서도 BPA가 과다검출됐다고 밝혔다.
한편 BPA는 잘 알려진 내분비 교란물질로, 낮은 수치에 노출되더라도 당뇨병, 유방암, 전립선암, 정자수 감소, 생식 문제, 이른 성숙기, 비만, 신경학적 문제의 정도를 심화시키는 것으로 알려져 있다.
