한중도시우호협회는 5월23일자 보도자료에서 “권기식 한중도시우호협회장이 22일 경기도 의정부시 국제협력 정책고문으로 위촉됐다”고 밝혔다.
김동근 의정부시장은 이날 권기식 회장에게 위촉장과 명함을 전달하며 "한중 지방정부 교류 지도자인 권기식 회장을 의정부시 정책고문으로 모시게 돼 큰 힘이 된다"며 "경기북부 중심도시인 의정부시와 중국 도시들간 경제ㆍ행정ㆍ문화교류를 위해 힘써주기 바란다"고 말했다.
