브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 합동참모본부는 31일 북한이 발사 실패한 정찰위성 발사체를 찾았다며 잔해물 수거 작전에 돌입했다고 밝혔다.
합참에 따르면 이날 오전 8시5분경 어청도 서방 200여 km 해상에서 이날 북한이 발사한 것으로 추정되는 물체를 식별해 인양 중에 있다.
우리 군은 잔해물을 수거해 정밀 분석에 들어갈 것으로 보인다. 잔해물을 통해 북한의 위성 및 발사 기술을 어느정도 가늠해볼 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.
또한 발사체에 사용된 외국산 부품 사용 여부도 알 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 이를 통해 대북 제재 준수 여부 및 북한에 관련 기술을 이전 했는지 여부 등도 판단할 수 있을 것으로 분석된다.

한편, 북한 조선중앙통신은 이날 보도를 통해 "국가우주개발국이 이날 오전 6시27분 서해위성발사장에서 예정됐던 군사정찰위성 '만리경-1호'를 신형위성운반로켓(우주발사체) '천리마-1형'에 탑재해 발사했다"고 밝혔다.
이어 "발사된 신형위성 운반로켓 '천리마-1형'은 정상비행하던 중 1계단(단계) 분리 후 2계단 발동기(로켓 엔진)의 시동 비정상으로 추진력을 상실하면서 조선 서해에 추락했다"면서 "천리마-1형'에 도입된 신형발동기체계의 믿음성(신뢰성)과 안정성이 떨어지고 사용된 연료의 특성이 불안정한 데 사고의 원인이 있는 것으로 본다"고 실패 이유까지 전했다.
