왕피천 피래미 축제’는 온 가족이 함께 즐기고, 느끼고, 공감할 수 있는 축제로서 주요 프로그램으로는 대나무를 이용한 전통 피래미 낚시, 풍년기원제, 은어 잡기 등으로 구성됐다.
또한 밤하늘의 쏟아지는 별빛과 산촌 생활을 체험하고 싶다면 마을에서 운영하는 산촌펜션과 마을 인근 숙박시설을 이용하면 된다.
한편 굴구지 산촌마을은 45세대 70여 명이 모여 사는 오지마을로 사시사철 물이 맑고 금강소나무 숲이 울창한 천혜의 자연환경을 지닌 우리나라 최고의 트레킹 코스로 각광받는 곳이다.
2008년 주민 주도로 시작된 축제는 농식품부 지원사업에 3년간 선정됐으며, 올해는 울진군 농촌축제 지원사업으로 추진되는 울진 대표 주민 자율형 축제이다.
손병복 울진군수는“초여름 6월을 맞아 왕피천 맑은 물에서 몸과 마음에 쌓인 스트레스를 날려버리고, 가족들과 함께 동심으로 돌아가 좋은 추억을 만들길 바란다”라고 전했다.
