브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 농협중앙회는 지난 7일 서울 중구 농협중앙회 본관에서 도농상생기금 지원을 위한 ‘상생협력위원회’를 열고, 전국 도시농축협이 ‘도농상생기금’ 3493억원을 지원키로 했다고 밝혔다.
‘도농상생기금’은 도농간 균형발전을 위해 2012년부터 도시지역 농·축협이 신용사업 수익의 일부를 출연해 조성하는 기금이다. 기존 지원된 3368억원을 포함해 총 6861억원이 농촌지역 농·축협에 무이자로 지원될 예정이다.
농촌지역 농축협은 이 기금을 활용 농축산물 수급불안, 가격등락, 재해 등에 따른 경제사업의 손실을 보전함으로써, 농축산물 판매·유통사업을 활성화하고 경쟁력을 강화해 나가고 있다.
신상철 상생협력위원회 위원장은 “도농간 균형발전과 농업·농촌 활력화를 위해 도시와 농촌 농축협간의 상생협력이 어느 때보다 중요한 시기”라며 “앞으로도 도농상생기금을 지속적으로 확충하고, 도시와 농촌의 상생발전을 위한 협력체계를 공고히 유지하겠다”고 말했다.
