[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 함양군은 15일 함양농협 미곡종합처리장에서 지리산 함양 쌀 20톤을 미국으로 수출하는 선적식을 가졌다.

이날 선적식에는 진병영 함양군수, 박용운 함양군의회 의장, 함양군의회 의원, 최윤만 농협중앙회 함양군지부장, 진용곤 쌀 전업농회장 등을 비롯한 수출관계자 10여명이 참석했다.

이번에 수출된 함양 쌀은 미국 동부지역 마트에 납품되어 교민들과 현지인들의 입맛을 사로잡을 것으로 예상된다.

앞서 함양군은 지난 5월 진병영 군수를 단장으로 미국시장개척단 활동을 통해 현지 마케 홍보 및 유통업체와의 수출협약 등 미국 중·동부시장 수출 확대를 위해 힘을 쏟았다.

함양농협 강선욱 조합장은 “철저한 품질관리로 함양 쌀을 해외에 알려 국내 쌀 시장 어려움을 극복하는 돌파구가 되도록 노력 하겠다”고 말했다.

진병영 군수는 “최근 K-푸드 열풍으로 인해 함양군에서 생산된 우수 농산물과 농식품에 대한 해외인지도가 어느 때보다 높아질 것으로 예상된다”며 “고품질 쌀 브랜드 육성으로 함양 쌀의 우수성을 미국 전역에 알릴 수 있도록 적극 지원 하겠다”고 말했다.
