군에 따르면 이번 특강은 영덕군 민선 8기의 체계적인 공약 실천 방안과 우수사례를 배우고 연구함으로써 매니페스토에 대한 이해를 높이고 관련 직원들의 역량을 강화해 공약사업을 성공적으로 이행하기 위해 마련됐다.
강사로 초빙된 한국 매니페스토실천본부 이광재 사무총장은 매니페스토와 민주주의, 미래도시 방향 설정을 위한 제언과 함께 공약 실천을 위해 공무원의 역할과 책임의 중요성을 강조했으며, 이 과정에서 주민과의 소통을 통해 정책 추진과정을 세심하게 살필 것을 당부했다.
김광열 영덕군수는 “이번 특강을 계기로 공약사업을 더욱 성실히 이행하기 위해 초심을 가지고 노력하겠다”며, “전 공무원이 하나 된 마음으로 체계적이고 내실 있는 정책을 추진해 군민과 함께 영덕군을 발전시켜 나갈 것”이라고 밝혔다.
