살아남으려면, 이 세상에서 하나뿐인 그 무엇? 그 무엇을 찾아내야 한다.
6월16일 점심 때, 서울 종로구 인사동에서 심민섭 만화가를 만났다. 심민섭 만화가는 강원도 홍천에 거주한다.
큰 예언가 차길진 법사(1947년생. 고인이 됨)의 절친한 친구라, 오래 동안 알고 지냈다. 젊었을 때, 자살하려 수면제를 먹었는데, 예언가 친구(고등학교 동창)인 차길진 법사가 찾아와 병원으로 이송, 구명해줬다고 한다. 필자는 이날 심민섭 선생과 차길진 법사의 이야기로, 긴 시간을 보냈다.
이 분은 뛰어난 비판력을 지니신 분이다. 하지만, '택시운전 5년 경력'을 자랑스러워했다. 인생에서 제1로 내세우는 경력이다.

한국일보에서 만화가로 일하기 시작했다. 그 후, 일간스포츠-서울경제-세계일보-국민일보-대전일보에서 만화가로 근무했다. 평생, 만화가로 살았다. 아동만화도 500여 권이나 그렸다.
만화가 시절, 만화가로서 전두환-노태우-김영삼-김대중-노무현-이명박-박근혜 전 대통령들을 희화화(戲畫化)거나, 주물럭거리며 살았다. 촌철살인(寸鐵殺人)의 필력을 구사했다. 이 때문에, 늘 국가 정보기관에 감시당했다.
은퇴한 후 강원도 홍천의 홍천강 가에 대저택을 구입, 농촌생활을 해왔다. 열심히 정원도 가꾸며 산다. 그뿐 아니라 마을의 노인회 회장에 당선, 1948년생으로서 '노후 권력(?)'까지 맘껏 누리다. 부럽다~

After his retirement, he bought a mansion by the Hongcheon River in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, and lived a rural life. He also works diligently in gardening.
