【브레이크뉴스 】박희경 기자=블루원배 제40회 한국주니어골프선수권 대회가 오는 7월 26일부터 28일까지 3일간 블루원 용인C.C에서 블루원(대표이사 윤재연 부회장)과 대한골프협회(KGA) 공동 주최로 개최된다.

이번 대회에는 남녀 각각 초등부 16명, 중등부 28명, 고등부 44명 등 모두 176명이 참가한다. 남녀 국가대표 4명과 국가상비군(주니어 포함) 16명 등 초·중·고등부 최우수 선수 대부분이 출전한다.
경기는 3라운드 54홀 스트로크 플레이 방식으로 진행한다. 4인1조로 1, 2라운드 18홀 경기 후 cut off를 적용해 남녀 각각 초등부 9명, 중등부 15명, 고등부 24명이 3인 1조 최종 3라운드를 진행해 우승자를 가린다. 공식 연습일은 7월 25일이며 참가 확정된 인원에 대해 7월 17~21일까지 신청 받는다.
1983년부터 시작된 한국 주니어골프선수권 대회는 주니어 우수선수 발굴과 육성, 경기력 향상을 목적으로 한국 최고의 골프 스타들을 조기 발굴해온 등용문으로 인정받는 내셔널타이틀 주니어대회다. 박세리, 신지애, 유소연, 장하나, 최나연, 김효주, 이정은6, 김경태, 임성재, 김시우 등 많은 선수들이 이 대회를 통해 일찍부터 두각을 나타내며 세계적인 골퍼로 성장했다.

After the 1st and 2nd rounds of 18 holes played in groups of 4, a cut-off is applied, and 9 elementary school students, 15 middle school students, and 24 high school students, respectively, of men and women, proceed to the final 3 rounds in groups of 3 to determine the winner. The official practice day is July 25, and applications are accepted from July 17 to 21 for confirmed participants.
The Korea Junior Golf Championship, which started in 1983, is a national title junior tournament recognized as a gateway to early discovery of the best golf stars in Korea for the purpose of discovering and nurturing outstanding junior players and improving their performance.
