Employment of 500 largest companies increased by 9,314.. More than 2,100 increased in shipbuilding, machinery, and equipment industries only
Break News Reporter Moon Hong-cheol= It was counted that domestic conglomerates have “increased” the employment of “nearly 10,000” in the first half of this year, despite the severe “economy” and sluggishness.
Employment increased by more than 1,000 in industries such as shipbuilding/machinery/equipment, service, food and beverage, petrochemicals, public corporations, and construction/building materials, while industries such as IT electrical and electronics, distribution, and securities decreased.
By company, Samsung Electronics added 2,275 employees, showing the largest increase among the top 500 companies.
According to CEOSCO on the 26th, as a result of surveying the employment status of 475 companies, based on sales, out of the 500 largest companies, excluding 25 companies that have undergone mergers or spin-offs, etc., based on national pension subscribers, net employment in the first half of this year increased by 9,314 compared to the end of the previous year.
The net number of employees is a number obtained by subtracting the number of people who have lost qualifications from the number of people who have obtained qualifications for membership in the National Pension Scheme, and it means the number of people who have lost their qualifications.
In the first half of this year, 146,970 people were cumulatively acquired and 137,656 people lost their national pension subscription qualifications at the top 500 companies. The number of people who lost the national pension decreased slightly compared to the first half of last year (150,232 people), but the number of people who acquired it decreased significantly compared to the first half of the previous year (164,877 people), and the scale of net employment growth fell below 10,000 people.
By industry, net employment increased in 18 of the total 21 industries, including shipbuilding, machinery and facilities.
Shipbuilding/machinery/facility increased the most with 2,142 employees, followed by the service industry with 2,132 employees. Food and beverage (1279 people), petrochemicals (1206 people), public corporations (1151 people), and construction/building materials (1017 people) were also among the industries in which net employment increased significantly, exceeding 1,000 people.
Conversely, the decrease in net employment was the largest in IT and electronics, with a decrease of 974 people. The distribution (-756 people) and securities (-301 people) industries also recorded negative net employment in the first half of this year.
By company, Samsung Electronics' net employment increase was 2,275, the highest among all companies surveyed. In the first half of this year, Samsung Electronics counted 5,839 people who obtained the national pension and 3,564 people who lost it. Among the companies surveyed, it was the only one whose net employment growth exceeded 2,000.
Subsequently, Korea Railroad Corporation and Hyundai Motor Company increased their net employment by 1,419 and 1,057, respectively, exceeding 1,000.
If you look at the top 10, △CJ Olive Young (859 people) △SCK Company (829 people) △Samgu I&C (751 people) △LG Energy Solutions (749 people) △Samsung C&T (690 people) △Nonghyup Bank (468 people) △POSCO Future M (456 people) is in order.
On the other hand, the company with the largest decrease in net employment in the first half of this year was LG Innotek, with a decrease of 2,665 people. Following this, LG Display decreased by 1,201 people, showing a decrease of more than 1,000 people each. In particular, the large decrease in employment at LG Innotek can be attributed to the nature of the industry, where the number of contract cancellations increases in the first half of the following year, while the number of non-regular workers increases significantly in the second half of the year when customer demand is concentrated.
In addition, the 10 companies with the greatest decrease in net employment were △E-Mart (-773 persons) △Korea Expressway Corporation (-589 persons) △Kia (-453 persons) △Kookmin Bank (-432 persons) △Lotte Shopping (-425 persons) △ Homeplus (-394 people) △ Korea Horse Association (-384 people) △ Kakao Entertainment (-383 people), etc.
