【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시는 오는 10월 ‘황금정원나들이’ 개최를 앞두고 정원문화 정착과 도시농업 확산을 위한 ‘시민정원 콘테스트 참가자’ 모집에 나섰다.

26일 경주시에 따르면 다음달 11일까지 참가 신청을 받으며, 시민 뿐 아니라 조경·화훼 전문가들도 참여할 수 있다.
이번 시민정원 콘테스트는 ‘정원으로 하나되는 빛나는 경주’를 주제로 창의적이고 스토리가 담긴 정원이 꾸며질 예정이다.
시민 10개 팀과 전문가 5개 팀 등 총 15개 팀을 선발하며 ‘황금정원 나들이’ 축제 기간 각 팀 마다 4㎡ 크기의 정원이 주어진다.
또 참가자들의 실력향상을 위해 작품 제작 전 가드닝 교육이 실시되는데, 정원의 개념과 활용, 디자인 구상을 위한 이론교육과 시공 및 안전, 정원꾸미기 등의 기술을 익힐 수 있는 현장교육 등으로 진행된다.
이후 참가자들이 출품한 작품은 심사를 거쳐 최우수 1팀, 우수 2팀, 전문가 특별상 2팀 등 총 5개 팀을 시상할 예정이다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “이번 황금정원나들이 시민정원 콘테스트에 지역주민과 조경화훼 전문가들의 적극적인 참여를 당부한다”며 “이번 콘테스트를 통해 경주의 아름다운 정원문화를 세계에 알리고 지역사회와 소통하는 행사가 되길 기대한다”고 말했다.
한편 올해 ‘황금정원 나들이’는 황남동 고분군 일원에서 오는 10월 6일부터 15일까지 10일간 개최된다.
