한수원 월성원자력본부(본부장 김한성)는 월성 3호기가 정기검사와 원자로 안전성 향상을 위한 예방정비를 위해 7월 27일 오전 9시에 발전을 정지하고, 약 52일간의 공정으로 제20차 계획예방정비에 들어갔다고 밝혔다.
월성 3호기는 계획예방정비기간 동안 법정검사, 정지냉각펌프 열교환기 배관 교체, 터빈제어시스템 설비 교체, 저압터빈 분해점검등 안전계통 정비 및 설비점검을 마친후 원자력안전위원회의 승인을거쳐, 2023년 9월 17일 발전을 재개할 예정이다.
