경주시의회, 경상북도 시군의회 의장협의회 정기총회 개최

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시의회는 27일 경주화백컨벤션센터에서 제313차 경상북도 시군의회 의장협의회 정기총회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 정기총회는 도내 20개 시군의회 의장들이 참석한가운데 안경숙 협의회장(상주시의회 의장)의 개회사, 이철우 경주시의회 의장의 환영사, 김성학 경주시 부시장과 이상걸 경주상공회의소 회장의 축사, 사회복지시설 성금 전달 및 수해 피해 성금 기탁, 본회의 순으로 진행됐다.

본회의에서는 대한민국 시군자치구의회 의장협의회의 활동사항을 청취하고,동절기 농업용수 공급을 위한 정책적인 지원과 급수대책을 마련할 것을 촉구하는 ‘겨울철 농업용수 급수대책 마련 촉구 건의안’을 채택했다.

이철우 의장은 경주를 방문한 시군의회 의장들을 환영하며 “화백회의가 열렸던 신라천년의 수도 경주에서 정기총회가 열리게 된 것을 매우 기쁘게 생각하고, 주민의 대의기관으로서 지역 발전과 주민이 행복한 사회를 위해 지방의회의 역할을 성실히 수행하자” 고 말했다.

아울러 “경주는 우리나라를 대표하는 가장 한국적인 도시이고, 충분한 숙박시설과 회의장을 갖춘 준비된 국제회의 도시이며, 특히 지방 소규모 도시 개최를 통해 진정한 지방분권과 국가균형발전을 이룰 수 있는 최적의 도시” 라며 “APEC 정상회의가 반드시 경주에 유치돼 경북의 시군이 함께 발전할 수 있는 계기가 되기를 희망한다” 고 했다.
