본지(브레이크뉴스)는 한설 전 육군 군사연구소장이 페이스북에 올린 글을 기사화 했다. 지난 8월14일자 “한설 전 소장, 이재명을 버리지 않으면 민주당은 가망이 없다” 제목의 기사에서 “국제정세는 급변하고 있는데 한국정치는 퇴행하고 있다.”면서 “그 퇴행의 중심에 이재명이 있고 여전히 문재인이 그 뒤에서 똬리를 틀고 있다.”고 소개했다.
한설 전 소장(예비역)은 군인 출신이다. 평생 군대에서 근무한 장군 출신이다. 거기에다가 육군 군사연구소장까지 역임했으니, 대한민국 군(軍)의 요직에 있었다. 생존해온 방식 상, 군인식 사고방식을 하고 있을 수도 있다. 그의 시각은 군인의 시각에서 바라본 한국정치일 수 있다고 생각된다.
필자가 그의 글을 읽고 관심을 가진 부분은 대한민국 사회 내의 주요지역인 영남(嶺南)과 호남(湖南)을 바라보는 시각이다. 그는 영호남(嶺湖南) 관계에서 호남을 영남(嶺南)의 식민지(植民地)라고 호칭한 부분이다.
