군은 23일 군청 상황실에서 기자회견을 갖고 지역책임의료기관인 거창적십자병원 이전을 포함하는 거창형 의료복지타운 조성부지를 확정 발표했다.
의료복지타운은 거창읍 대평리 일원으로 거창소방서와 농업기술센터 인근에 96,638㎡ 규모로 조성할 예정이다.
최초 복수후보지를 선정해 기본계획 용역을 통해 접근성, 토지이용 및 경제성 등 3개 분야 8개 항목에 따라 평가를 진행한 후 대한적십자사와의 협의를 거쳐 선호도가 높고 교환조건을 충족할 수 있는 위치를 반영한 결과다.
이에 앞서 거창군은 3월 3일 대한적십자사와 협약을 체결하면서 거창군이 부지를 조성하고 현재의 적십자병원과 교환후 적십자사가 건축주가 되어 병원을 신축하기로 합의한 바 있다.
