【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=한국원자력환경공단(이사장 조성돈, 이하 공단)은 지난 30일 경주 라한셀렉트에서 중소 협력사와 함께 방폐물산업 생태계 육성 전략을 주제로 한 2023년 방폐물산업 동반성장 워크숍을 개최했다고 31일 밝혔다.

공단에 따르면 이번 워크숍은 방사성폐기물 기술개발과 방폐물산업의 지속 가능한 발전을 위해 각 업계와 공단 간 지식을 공유하고 상호 협력하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 워크숍에는 방사능핵종분석, 방사선측정·관리, 방폐물 분석·인수검사, 기자재 등 방폐물산업 관련 50여개 협력사와 조성돈 이사장, 오정석 한국방사능 분석협회장, 산업통상자원부 박태현 원전환경과장과 공단 임직원과 협력사 대표 등 150여 명이 참석했다.
조성돈 한국원자력환경공단 이사장은 인사말을 통해 “방폐물산업 생태계 육성을 통해 협력사와 국내 뿐만 아니라 해외까지 진출할 수 있는 방안을 함께 모색할 것”이라고 말했다.
또한 박태현 산업부 원전환경과장은 “정부는 원전산업 생태계 복원과 고준위특별법 국회통과에 역량을 집중하고 있으며, 특별법 통과가 원전생태계 복원에 기폭제가 될 수 있을 것”이라고 약속했다.
고준위방폐물 기술개발계획으로 기술개발 로드맵(운반.저장, 부지확평가, 심층처분), 연구용 지하연구시설(URL) 사업, 고준위분야 인력양성 사업 등의 주요내용을 발표했다.
이어, 중저준위방폐물 기술개발계획으로 표층처분시설 및 매립형 처분시설, 방폐물 분석센터, 원전 해체방폐물 관리사업, 중저준위 및 RI 폐기물 처리방법.처분기술, R&D 추진방향 등을 발표했다.
또한, 국정과제인 원전 생태계 강화와 연계하여 방폐물산업 생태계 육성 전략을 공유하고 참석한 협력사 대표들과 토론회를 통해 기술개발 방향 등 현안에 대한 의견을 교환했다.

Next, as a technology development plan for low and intermediate level radioactive waste, surface disposal facilities and landfill disposal facilities, radioactive waste analysis center, nuclear power plant decommissioning waste management project, low and intermediate level and RI waste treatment methods and disposal technologies, and R&D direction were announced.
In addition, in connection with strengthening the nuclear power plant ecosystem, which is a national task, strategies for fostering the waste industry ecosystem were shared and opinions on current issues such as the direction of technology development were exchanged through a discussion session with participating partner company representatives.
