【브레이크뉴스 영덕】박희경 기자=영덕군은 영해면 성내리와 벌영리 일원에 추진하는 도시침수예방사업에 국비 75억 원을 추가로 확보했다고 5일 밝혔다.

군에 따르면 영해면 성내리와 벌영리 일대는 호우시 침수가 잦은 지역으로, 지난 21년 환경부로부터 하수도정비 중점관리지역으로 지정돼 국비 50억 원, 총사업비 72억 원의 규모로 ‘영해배수분구(송천2) 도시침수예방사업’을 추진하고 있다.
이에 더해 올해 하수도정비대책을 수립하는 과정에서 환경부로부터 국비 75억 원을 추가로 확보해 총사업비가 두 배 이상 증가한 209억 원을 투여해 침수 피해에 대한 근본적인 대책 마련에 나서게 됐다.
이번 국비 추가확보를 통해 진행될 사업내용은 빗물받이 정비 500개소, 우수관로 5.047㎞ 개량 사업 등으로 영해면 성내리와 벌영리 일원의 중점관리지역 1.46㎞에 대한 침수에 대응하게 된다.
이번 사업은 이달부터 내년 9월까지 기본 및 실시설계를 추진하고 내년 10월 공사를 시작해 2026년 9월 최종 준공할 예정이다.
최대석 물관리사업소장은 “영해면 지역의 침수 예방을 위한 사업이 조속히 이뤄져 주민들이 저 이상 피해가 없도록 최선을 다할 것”이라며, “주민들께서도 효과적인 사업 추진을 위해 주민설명회 등 참여와 의견 부탁드린다”고 전했다.
김광열 영덕군수는 “자연재해로부터 군민의 재산과 생명을 보호하기 위해 도시침수예방사업의 성공적인 추진은 물론 추가적인 대상지를 발굴하고 정부에 적극 건의해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
