기아는 18일부터 전기차 공유 서비스 ‘위블 비즈’를 기존 경기도 화성시, 광명시, 경상남도에 이어 강원도 홍천군에서 확대 운영한다고 밝혔다.
위블 비즈는 기업이나 기관이 정해진 업무시간 동안 전기차를 구독해 평일 업무시간에는 업무용으로 사용하고, 그 외 시간에는 개인이 출퇴근 혹은 주말 레저용으로 차량을 대여해 이용하는 친환경 공유 서비스다.
이번 서비스는 상대적으로 대중교통이 많지 않은 군 단위 지자체에 최초 도입됐으며, 홍천군의 스마트도시 조성을 위해 지역 주민, 상인, 공무원 등으로 구성된 ‘스마트도시 협의체’에 참여하는 형식으로 진행된다.
스마트도시 협의체는 집합교육과 리빙랩 방식을 활용해 지역경제 활성화 및 도시 문제 해결에 기여할 수 있는 홍천군만의 새로운 모빌리티 서비스 발굴을 목표로 삼고 있다.

이를 위해 기아는 홍천군청에 4대의 니로 EV 전기차를 투입한다. 해당 차량은 평일 업무시간에는 홍천군청 공무원들이 업무용으로 사용하고, 야간 및 주말에는 스마트도시 협의체 구성원, 지역 주민, 공무원이 자유롭게 사용하는 방식으로 운영된다.
