이번 국비 추가 확보로 총사업 규모가 기존 155억 원에서 65억 원 증가한 220억 원으로 진행돼 성공적인 사업추진을 할 수 있게 됐다.
영덕군에 따르면 축산면 축산항 일대는 호우시 침수가 잦은 지역으로, 지난 20년 환경부로부터 하수도정비 중점관리지역으로 지정돼 국비 108억 원, 총사업비 155억 원의 규모로 ‘축산 배수분구 도시침수 예방사업’이 추진 중이다.
이에 더해 영덕군 물관리사업소는 올해 환경부와의 협의를 통해 하수도정비대책 수립과 재원에 대한 의사를 타진한 결과 국비 46억 원을 추가로 확보하는 성과를 거둠으로써 침수 피해에 대한 근본적인 대책 마련에 나서게 됐다.
이번 국비 추가확보를 통해 진행될 사업 내용은 배수펌프장 신설 1개소, 빗물받이 정비 127개소, 우수관로 신설 및 교체 4.6㎞ 등으로, 축산면 축산항 일원의 중점관리지역 0.3㎢에 대한 침수 대응력을 향상할 것으로 기대된다.
이번 사업은 올해 10월까지 기본설계와 실시설계를 완료하고 올해 11월 착공해 2026년 4월 최종 준공할 계획이다.
최대석 물관리사업소장은 “이번 사업이 주요 목적이 주민들의 생활환경 개선을 위한 것인 만큼 주민들의 피해를 최소화하면서 사업이 원활하게 진행될 수 있도록 주민들의 의견을 충분히 반영해 진행하겠다”고 전했다.
