【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대 WISE캠퍼스 CAMPUS Asia-AIMS 사업단은 지난 9월 25일부터 28일까지 말레이시아 Universiti Malaysia Terengganu(UMT)에서 Universiti Malaysia Terengganu(UMT), Universiti of Malaysia Sabah(UMS)와 함께 공동으로 주최한 Global Tourism Conference (GTC) 2023: Smart Tourism and Sustainability를 성황리에 마쳤다고 4일 밝혔다.

GTC 2023: Smart Tourism and Sustainability는 아세안 지역 내 스마트관광 산업의 전문가 양성 및 저변 확대와 신진 연구자의 발굴을 위해 마련되었으며 특별 심포지엄, 학술 발표 등을 통하여 지속가능한 스마트관광에 대한 창의적이고 혁신적인 아이디어와 연구 능력을 발휘할 수 있는 기회의 장이 되었다.
뿐만 아니라 각 학교의 호텔관광경영학과 교수들이 Scientific committee 로 참여해 CAMPUS Asia-AIMS 사업의 학술교류 확장을 위한 기반을 마련했다.
CAMPUS Asia-AIMS 사업은 교육부가 한-아세안 대학 간 학점 상호인정, 공동 커리큘럼 개발 및 운영, 학술교류 등을 통해 아세안 지역 전문가 양성 및 대학 간 학술교류를 위해 추진하는 사업이다. 지속가능한 스마트관광의 중요성이 커지고 있는 상황에서 아세안 호텔관광경영 대학들과의 학술교류의 필요성이 대두되어 공동 컨퍼런스를 개최했다.
동국대 WISE캠퍼스 CAMPUS Asia-AIMS 사업단장 권주경 교수는 “GTC 2023을 통해 아세안 지역의 지속가능한 스마트 관광에 대한 연구가 확산 되어 새로운 기회를 발굴하는 자리가 되고 더 나아가 동국대 WISE캠퍼스의 지속가능한 스마트관광의 학술적 역량을 알리고 AIMS 프로그램 참여대학들의 파트너십 강화에 기여하는 계기가 되었다”라고 소감을 밝혔다.
동국대 WISE캠퍼스의 CAMPUS Asia-AIMS 사업은 호텔관광경영전공에 특화된 프로그램으로 스마트관광도시로 선정된 경주를 배경으로 아세안 지역 내 지속가능한 스마트관광 우수 인재를 양성하고 글로벌 전문가를 배출하고 있으며 2023년 하반기에도 말레이시아와 태국의 파트너 대학들과 함께 온/오프라인 컨퍼런스와 포럼으로 활발한 학술교류를 이어나갈 예정이다.
