(사)아시아문화경관학회(ACLA) 학회장인 중국난징항공우주대학교 천현진 교수는 지난 9월 26일 (재)국제문화재단(전홍덕 이사장)이 주최한 아시아문화디자인공모전에서 특별강연을 했다.
태국 방콕대학교에서 열린 아시아문화디자인공모전에는 국제문화재단 전홍덕 이사장을 비롯해 방콕대학교 솜야트 와타나카몰차이 부총장, 더불어민주당 이동학 전 최고위원, 베트남 반랑대학교 예술대학 닥 타이 부학장, 방콕대학교 건축대학 리티롱 츄타프루티콘 학장 등이 참여했다.
천현진 교수는 이번 강연에서 한국의 조경설계를 소개하며 공간 설계시 지역의 문화를 고려한 설계가 중요하다는 점을 강조했다.
또한 방콕대 건축대학 학장과 아시아문화경관 연구에 대한 협력방안을 논의하기도 했다.
천현진 교수는 “태국은 관광자원이 풍부하여 관광개발을 위한 정부차원의 다양한 투자가 이루어지고 있다. 그래서 조경분야에서도 태국에 진출할 수 있는 기회가 많이 있다. 그 중에서도 태국 방콕시는 문화경관이 풍부하고 아시아를 대표하는 관광도시로 문화경관 연구에 중요한 의미를 가질 수 있어, 우리나라 조경분야에서도 많은 관심을 가질 필요가 있다” 라고 전했다.
한편 천 교수는 부산 동래에서 차기 총선 출마를 고심하고 있는 것으로 알려졌다. 천 교수는 고(故) 천만호 동래구의회 의장의 아들로, 지난 총선 공천에서 탈락한 경험이 있다.
부산시 동래구지역 국민의힘에서는 이진복 대통령실 정무수석과 김희곤 의원, 서지영 국민의힘 중앙당 총무국장 등 총선 출마가 거론되고 있다.
