경북웹툰캠퍼스, ‘응덩’작가 첫 개인전 개최...11월 9일까지

【브레이크뉴스 경북】박희경 기자=경북문화재단 콘텐츠진흥원(원장 이종수, 이하 진흥원)이 운영하는 경북웹툰캠퍼스(이하 캠퍼스)는 오는 11월 9일까지 경주 황리단길에 위치한 경북웹툰캠퍼스 전시홀에서 응덩 작가의 개인전‘언제나 너의 곁에 있어’를 개최한다고 18일 밝혔다.

경북 작가들의 개성을 담은 하반기 기획전시의 첫 주역인 응덩 작가는 경주를 무대로 활동 중이며, 귀엽고사랑스러운화풍을 보여주는 인기 작가이다. 인스타그램 등의 SNS를 통해 맹한오리 ‘밍구’와 장난꾸러기 병아리 ‘완두’를 담은 웹툰을 선보이며 지역의 멋과 함께 힐링과 위로의 메시지를 전하고 있다.

전시의 주인공은 ‘밍구’와 ‘완두’이지만, 캔버스 밖에서 이들을 지켜보는 관람객 자신이기도 하다. 캐릭터들은 동글동글 귀엽고 사랑스러운 동물이지만 생각도 걱정도 많다. 짐짓 심각한 고민에 빠져들다가도 서로를 의지하며 행복을 찾는 캐릭터들은 매일을 살아가는 우리 모습처럼 보인다.

작가는 전시 소개를 통해 “누구보다 나를 위하고 응원해주는 이는 언제나 내 곁에 있는나 자신”임을 전한다. 이는 웹툰 콘텐츠를 통해 더 많은 사람들이위로와 치유의 메시지를 얻고, 나아가 예술을 사랑하는 도민들에게 긍정 에너지를 전하기 위함이다.

본 전시를 통해 ▲웹툰 아트워크 20여 점▲기획 영상 1점 ▲포토존 1곳 등의다채로운 볼거리를 만나볼 수 있다.

응덩 작가의 이번 전시는 11월 9일까지 토·일·공휴일을 제외한 오전 9시부터6시까지, 캠퍼스 1층 전시홀에서 누구나 무료로 관람할 수 있다.

이종수 경북문화재단 콘텐츠진흥원장은 “올 상반기를 웹툰으로 물들였던 기획전시의 다음 장이 펼쳐졌다”며 “하반기에도 많은 관심을 부탁드리며, 앞으로도진흥원과캠퍼스가 지역 창작자 지원에 더욱 적극적으로 나서겠다.”고전했다.

Artist Eung Deng, who is the first protagonist of the special exhibition in the second half of the year that captures the individuality of Gyeongbuk artists, is active in Gyeongju and is a popular artist who displays a cute and lovely painting style. He presents a webtoon featuring the fierce duck ‘Minggu’ and the mischievous chick ‘Wandu’ through social media such as Instagram, conveying a message of healing and comfort along with local style.

The main characters of the exhibition are ‘Minggu’ and ‘Wandu’, but it is also the audience who watches them from outside the canvas. The characters are round, cute and lovely animals, but they also have a lot of thoughts and worries. The characters who find happiness by relying on each other even when they are immersed in serious trouble seem like we live our daily lives.

In the introduction to the exhibition, the artist says, “The person who supports and supports me more than anyone else is myself, who is always by my side.” This is to enable more people to receive messages of comfort and healing through webtoon content, and to deliver positive energy to art-loving residents.

Artist Eung Deng's exhibition is open to anyone for free at the exhibition hall on the first floor of the campus from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, until November 9.
