한중도시우호협회측은 10월28일자 보도자료에서 “권기식 한중도시우호협회장은 10월28일 중국 베이징시 시청(西城)구 소재 중국 불교협회를 방문해 중싱(宗性) 중국 불교협회 상임부회장, 후덕핑(胡德平) 국가종교사무국 중앙통전부 교류처장, (普正) 부비서장, 왕리(王立) 국제부 주임, 뤄위진(羅喩臻) 국제부 부주임, 왕조텐(王兆天) 국제부 서기관 등을 면담했다”고 전했다.
권기식 회장은 "한중도시우호협회는 태고종과 함께 한중(韓中) 불교 교류를 적극 추진하겠다"며 관심과 지지를 당부했다. 후더핑 처장과 중싱 상임부회장은 한중(韓中) 불교 교류를 적극 지지한다고 화답했다.
권기식 회장은 이에 앞서 10월27일 중국 베이징시 차오양(朝陽)구 소재 쿤타이로얄호텔 중식당에서 열린 중국 외교부 아시아국 초청 오찬 간담회에 참석했다. 권기식 회장은 이날 천샤오춘(陳少春) 중국 외교부 아시아국 부국장 등을 만나 한중(韓中) 민간 교류 활성화를 위한 지지를 요청했다. 권 회장은 "중국 외교부의 대표적인 한국통인 천 부국장이 한중 관계 발전에 많은 역할을 하기를 바란다"고 말했다.
천샤오춘(陳少春) 부국장은 "중한(中韓) 관계는 이념과 제도를 넘어 협력하고 발전한 관계"라며 "중한(中韓) 공공교류와 민간 교류를 적극지지 한다"고 말했다. 이날 간담회에는 중국측에서 천샤오춘(陳少春) 부국장과 리창창(李强强) 부처장, 왕위민(王玉民) 부과장 등이 참석했다.
