[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 산청군은 3일 산청·함양사건추모공원에서 ‘제72주년 산청·함양사건 양민희생자 제36회 합동위령제 및 추모식’을 가졌다.
이번 행사는 억울하게 희생된 영령들의 넋을 기리고 유가족들의 아픔을 함께하기 위해 마련됐다.
행사에는 민수호 산청·함양사건 유족회장과 유가족을 비롯해 이준승 행정안전부 과거사업무지원단장, 이도완 경남도 복지보건국장, 이승화 산청군수, 진병영 함양군수, 산청·함양군의회 의원, 기관사회단체장, 지역주민 등 400여명이 참석했다.
행사에서는 먼저 위패봉안각에서 산청군수, 함양군의회 부의장, 유족회장으로 구성된 3명의 헌관이 제례를 올렸다.
이어 참배광장에서 열린 추모식에서는 반야무용단의 식전공연을 시작으로 헌화·분향, 경과보고 추모사, 추모시 낭송, 위령가 제창 등이 진행됐다.
이승화 군수는 추모사를 통해 “산청·함양사건 유가족들은 오랜 세월 진실을 규명하고 희생자에 대한 명예회복을 위해 노력해 왔다”며 “앞으로도 그날의 진실을 기억하고 유족들의 아픔을 조금이나마 덜 수 있도록 위령사업과 유족지원 등 행정적 지원뿐만 아니라 명예회복을 위해 힘을 보태겠다”고 말했다.
한편 산청·함양사건은 6·25전쟁 중인 1951년 2월 산청군 금서면 방곡마을·가현마을, 함양군 휴천면 점촌마을, 유림면 서주마을 일대에서 국군이 죄 없는 민간인을 학살한 사건이다.
산청군은 희생자 합동묘역 관리, 역사교육 등을 위해 산청함양사건추모공원을 운영하고 있다.
