원자력환경공단, 한국원자력환경복원연구원과 맞손

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=한국원자력환경공단(이사장 조성돈)은 지난 6일 경주 본사에서 한국원자력환경복원연구원(원장 권병훈)과 상호협력을 위한 업무협정(MOU)을 체결했다고 7일 밝혔다.

이날 양 기관은 원전해체폐기물 처리.처분 분야 기술인력 역량강화, 국내외 유관기관과의 상생협력 등 다양한 분야에서 상호 협력하기로 했다.

한국원자력환경복원연구원은 원전해체 기술 자립과 산업지원을 주도하는 연구기관으로서, 원전해체연구소 및 중수로해체기술원 설립을 추진하고 있으며 원전해체 관련 15개 과제를수행 중이다.

공단은 해체폐기물 분야에 있어 전문적인 기술을 보유한 한국원자력환경복원연구원과 긴밀한 협력체계를 구축함으로서 해체폐기물관리 인력 역량 강화, 기술교류 활성화를 통해 국제공동연구 등 필요한 협력과제를 수행할 계획이다.

조성돈 한국원자력환경공단 이사장은 “한국원자력복원연구원과의 기술 공유를 통해 방폐장을 더욱 안전하고 효율적으로 운영해 나갈 수 있도록 방사성폐기물 관리 역량 강화에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
