브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 홍익표 더불어민주당 원내대표는 당 내 비명(비이재명)계 의원들이 12월 대거 탈당할 것이란 이야기가 도는데 대해 "어떤 의원님들도 탈당을 얘기하고 계시지 않는다"고 반박했다.
홍익표 원내대표는 13일 오전 YTN라디오 '뉴스킹 박지훈입니다'에서 "일부 의원이 탈당 가능성을 말했는데, 그건 이제 앵커들이 자꾸 탈당 질문을 하니까 그렇게 얘기하는 것"이라며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "(대표적 비명계인) 이원욱 의원 같은 경우도 '지금 탈당을 전제로 움직이는 건 아니다'라고 말씀을 하신다"면서 "자꾸 이게 말에 꼬리를 물고 꼬리를 물고 하면서 증폭되는 게 있는데, 그런 상황으로 가지 않도록 내부 의견을 조율하고 하는 것이 지도부의 몫이라고 생각하고 제가 열심히 해보겠다"고 강조했다.
이어 그는 당내 비명계 사이에서 공천 학살 우려가 나오는데 대해선 "우리 당은 4년 전 시스템 공천을 확정 지었고 올해 4월에도 이개호 공천제도TF 팀장이 룰을 정했다"면서 "정해진 룰대로 저희들이 하면 된다. 그건 합의된 룰이다. 그 룰을 못 지키겠다고 하면 그건 문제다. 지난 4월 공개됐을 때 다 동의한 방식이며 그 룰대로 공정하고 투명하게 관리하면 공천에 대한 문제는 없을 것"이라고 말했다.
홍익표 원내대표는 또한 조국 전 법무부 장관이 내년 총선을 시사한데 대해서도 "아직 어떠한 얘기도 직접 들어보지 못했다. 어떤 얘기를 들어보면 출마 가능성처럼 들리고 어떤 얘기를 들으면 그렇지 않은 것처럼 들리고 해서 뭐라고 말씀드릴 수는 없다"고 했다.
그러면서 "물론 조국 전 장관 개인의 판단이기 때문에 아직 우리 당에 들어오신 것도 아니고 어떻게 할지 모르겠지만 큰 틀에서 민주 진영, 우리 당을 포함한 범야권이 어떻게 가는 게 좋을지에 대해서 아마 같이 고민하시지 않을까 생각된다"고 덧붙였다.
