특히, 한수원은 원자력발전 회사로는 대회 최초로 11회 연속 최고상을 수상하며, 한국 원자력발전 및 수력·양수발전의 품질과 안전 우수성을 세계에 알렸다.
1976년 시작해 올해 48회를 맞이한 국제품질분임조 경진대회는 전 세계의 분임조들이 참가해 우수한 품질 개선 성과를 선보이고 경쟁하는 국제 대회다. 이번 대회에는 12개 나라에서 831개 분임조가 참가했으며, 한국 대표로는 한수원을 비롯한 13개 기관에서 27개 분임조가 출전했다.
한수원은 한울1발전소, 월성2발전소와 칠보수력발전소의 품질분임조가 참가해 1차계통 수질분석 프로세스 개선, 냉각재계통 개선으로 노심손상 위험지수 감소, 수력발전 공정 개선이라는 성과를 인정받았다.
황주호 한수원 사장은 “11회 연속 최고상 수상은 한수원의 엄격한 품질과 안전관리의 우수성을 다시 한번 입증한 결과”라며, “지속적인 품질혁신을 통해 국민께 더욱 신뢰받는 한수원이 되도록 노력하겠다”라고 말했다.
