브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 군 당국은 27일 북한이 9·19 남북군사합의를 사실상 파기하겠다고 선언한 이후 비무장지대(DMZ) 내 최전방경계초소(GP)를 다시 복원하고 있다고 밝혔다.
군 당국은 이날 북한 동부지역을 촬영한 사진을 공개하며 이같이 밝혔다.
군이 공개한 사진에는 북한이 GP를 다시 복원하는 장면과 초소에 중화기를 반입하고 있는 모습 등이 담겨 있다.
북한은 지난 2018년 9·19 남북군사합의 이후 비무장지대 내 GP 11곳 가운데 10곳을 스스로 파기했다. 하지만 지난 23일부터 모든 군사적 조치를 회복하겠다고 선언한 이후 파손된 GP 복구에 나섰다.
이에 대해 우리 군은 "북한이 다시 짓고 있는 GP는 목재로 만드는 가건물"이라며 "예전과 같은 콘크리트 건물로 만들 것인지는 좀 더 지켜봐야 할 것 같다"고 설명했다.

군은 또한 북한이 GP에 비반충포(무반동총) 등 중화기를 들여오는 장면과, 북한군이 다시 경계근무를 서기 시작한 것 역시 확인했다.
군 관계자는 "일부 GP에서 비반충포와 같은 유사 무기가 식별됐다"면서 "모든 GP에 중화기가 반입됐는지는 현재로선 알 순 없으나, 모두 들였을 것으로 추정하고 있다"고 말했다.
