브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= K-water 아라뱃길지사(지사장 김지웅)와 한국에너지전환사업단(대표 이동형)은 20일 경인항 인천터미널 주차장 태양광발전시설 준공식을 가졌다.
이날 준공식에는 김지웅 K-water 아라뱃길지사장을 비롯, 이승우 미래탄소중립포럼 상임대표 등 내·외빈 50여명이 참석했다.
경인항 인천터미널 주차장 태양광발전시설은 지난 9월 착공했다. 설비용량은 약 974kW 규모이며 연간 1351MWh의 전력을 생산할 수 있다. 이는 450여 가구 사용전력을 대체할 수 있는 규모이고, 매년 축구장 104개 면적, 223,000여그루의 나무를 심는 효과, 약 621톤의 탄소 감축 효과를 기대할 수 있다.
특히 주차장 태양광발전시설은 전력생산 역할 뿐 아니라 여름철 그늘막과 비 올 때 가리개 역할을 겸해 시민들의 주차장 이용도 훨씬 편리할 것으로 기대된다.
김지웅 아라뱃길지사장은 "기후변화 대응을 위해 ESG 경영을 기반한 친환경 에너지는 선택이 아닌 필수가 되어가고 있다"며 "경인항 인천터미널 주차장은 많은 시민들이 이용하는 만큼 공간효율성뿐만 아니라 주변 경관과 어울리는 디자인에 중점을 두었기에 앞으로 시민들의 나들이 명소로도 자리잡을 수 있게 노력하겠다"고 말했다.
한편 K-water는 지난해 10월 공공 유휴부지를 활용한 탄소중립인프라 확대를 위해 경인항인천터미널 주차장 상부를 활용한 재생에너지 사업자 공모를 실시, 예비사회적기업인 한국에너지전환사업단(유)을 선정, 실시협약을 맺고 1년여만에 준공 결실을 맺었다.
경인항 인천터미널 주차장 태양광발전시설은 아라뱃길을 상징하는 파도 물결 형상 조형물로 ‘3개의 물결, 세계의 물결’이란 컨셉을 담아 건설됐다.
