브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 부영그룹이 대한적십자사에 3억 원을 기부한다. 지난 7일 부영그룹 이중근 회장이 1억 원을 개인 기부하며 ‘레드크로스 아너스클럽(Red Cross Honors Club)’에 가입한 데 이어 그룹 차원에서도 3억 원을 기부했다.
21일 부영그룹 강만수 상임고문은 서울 중구 대한적십자사 서울사무소를 찾아 3억 원을 전달했다. 기부금은 재난 구호, 소외된 이웃, 취약계층 의료 지원 등 적십자사의 인도주의 사업에 사용될 예정이다.
강만수 상임고문은 “기부에는 이중근 회장님의 뜻이 컸다”며 “많은 분들이 함께 잘 사는 삶을 같이 만들어 나갔으면 좋겠다고 자주 말씀하시는데, 이번 기부가 사각지대에 놓인 어려운 이웃들에게 작은 희망이 되길 바란다. 앞으로도 적십자의 인도주의 활동에 적극 참여하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 부영그룹은 국내외 소외 계층에 대한 지원을 비롯해 교육·문화시설 기증, 교육 기자재 기부, 장학사업, 군 장병 복지 향상을 위한 지원, 임대료 없는 어린이집, 국기 태권도의 세계화, 역사 바로 알리기 등 사회공헌 활동에 앞장서며, 1조1000억 원이 넘는 기부 활동을 이어나가고 있다.
