브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 넥슨은 ‘던전앤파이터’ IP를 활용한 웹소설 ‘아라드의 빛 : 먼저 걷는 자’를 연재한다고 2일 밝혔다.
‘아라드의 빛 : 먼저 걷는 자’는 웹툰, 웹소설 계에서 다수의 히트작을 제작한 ‘레드아이스 스튜디오’와의 협업 작품으로, 인기 웹소설 ‘마탄의 사수’의 이수백 작가가 집필을 맡았다.
주인공 ‘진성’이 ‘던파’ 게임 속에 들어가 ‘아라드’ 세계를 모험한다는 설정으로, ‘던파’의 스토리가 전개되는 주요 시나리오 퀘스트를 수행하면서 벌어지는 에피소드를 다룬다.
특히, 실제 ‘던파’ 이용자이기도 한 이수백 작가는 플레이 경험을 웹소설에 담는 한편, 처음부터 다시 ‘던파’를 플레이하면서 세계관, 시나리오, 퀘스트 등 게임 전반을 연구해 이용자들의 공감과 추억을 상기시킬 수 있는 스토리 라인을 구축했다.
‘아라드의 빛 : 먼저 걷는 자’는 2일 자정에 네이버 시리즈에서 최초 10화 분량이 공개됐으며, 6주간 매일 1화씩 무료로 연재된다. 오는 2월 13일부터 공개되는 분량은 유료 서비스로 전환된다.
한편, 넥슨은 ‘레드아이스 스튜디오’와 웹툰 전문 스튜디오 ‘3B2S’와 협업해 올 상반기 내 ‘아라드의 빛 : 먼저 걷는 자’를 소재로 한 웹툰도 선보일 계획이다.
