브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 지난 2일 흉기 피습을 당했던 이재명 더불어민주당 대표가 치료를 마치고 당무에 복귀했다.
이재명 대표는 17일 오전 국회에서 열린 최고위원회의를 주재하며 첫 일정을 소화했다.
이 대표는 "법으로도 죽여보고 펜으로도 죽여보고 그러고 안되니 칼로 죽여보려 하지만 저는 결코 죽지 않는다"면서 "국민께서 저를 살려주신 것처럼, 이 나라와 미래를 제대로 이끌어주실 것으로 확신한다"고 강조했다.
이어 내년 총선에 대해 "정권에 대한 중간 평가이자 권력에 대한 심판 선거"라며 "국민께서 이 정권이 과연 국민과 국가를 위해 주어진 권력 제대로 행사했는지 판단해 주길 바란다"고 말했다.
그러면서 "민주당은 이 정권의 2년간의 행태나 성과가 결코 국민 기대에 부합하지 못했다고 생각한다. 그 책임을 묻는 데 있어 최선을 다하겠다"고 덧붙였다.
당 내 공천 과정에서 친명-비명간 잡음이 인데 대해선 "많은 논란이 있지만 최선을 다해 통합하고 국민 눈높이에 맞는 공정한, 혁신적인 공천을 통해 우리 국민에 새로운 희망을 보여드리겠다"고 강조했다.
이재명 대표는 윤석열 정부를 향해서도 "모든 국민에게 평등해야 할 법이 특정인에게 특혜가 되고 있다. 정상적인 나라가 아니라 비정상의 나라로 후퇴하고 있다"면서 "국민으로부터 권력 위임받은 정치인들이, 공직자들이 마치 그 권력이 자신 개인의 것인 양 국민들에게 함부로 휘두르고 있다"고 비판했다.
