브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 조국 전 법무부 장관이 13일 "무능한 검찰독재정권 종식을 위해 맨 앞에서 싸우겠다"며 신당 창당을 선언했다.
조국 전 장관은 이날 오후 자신의 고향인 부산 진구 부산시민공원에서 기자회견을 열고 "4월 10일은 무도하고 무능한 윤석열 정권 심판 뿐이 아니라 복합 위기에 직면한 대한민국을 다시 일으켜 세우는 계기가 되어야 한다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "떨리는 마음으로 새로운 정당을 만들겠다는 뜻을 국민들께 밝힌다"며 "혼자서는 엄두도 내지 못할 결정이었지만 손을 잡아주신 시민들이 계셨기에 이 자리에 섰다"고 운을 뗐다.
이어 그는 "대한민국은 지금 외교, 안보, 경제 등 모든 분야에서 위기에 처해 있다"며 "위기를 극복하고 다시 도약하느냐 이대로 주저 않느냐 하는 기로에 서 있다"고 말했다.
그는 "완전히 다른 대한민국을 만들기 위해 시민들과 함께 행동 하고자 한다"며 "지역갈등, 세대갈등, 남녀 갈등을 조장하고 이용하는 정치, 국가적 위기는 외면한 채 오직 선거 유불리만 생각하는 정치는 이제 끝장내야 한다"고 강조했다.
조 전 장관은 또한 "갈등을 이용하는 정치가 아니라 갈등을 조정하고 문제를 해결하는 정당을 만들겠다"면서 "인기에 연연하지 않고 국가위기를 극복할 대안을 한발 앞서 제시하는 정당을 만들겠다. 대한민국의 변화를 이끌어내는 강소정당으로 자리매김하겠다"고 다짐했다.
