[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 시청사 동관 민원상담실 내 ‘김해 도자기 명장관’을 운영한다고 26일 밝혔다.

2천 년 전 가야토기의 맥을 이어오고 있는 분청사기의 본고장으로서 시청을 찾는 많은 시민들에게 지역 명장들의 우수한 작품과 분청도자의 아름다움을 소개하기 위해서다.

김해에는 120여명의 도예가가 옛 사기장의 전통을 계승하고 있으며 도자기 명장관에서는 명장 작품, 대한민국분청도자대전 수상작, 분청사기 재현품 등 30여 점의 도자기를 만날 수 있다.

우리나라 도자기 중 가장 한국적인 미의 원형으로 평가받는 분청사기는 회색 또는 회흑색 흙 위에 백토를 분장한 뒤 유약을 입혀서 구워낸 자기를 말하며 예로부터 김해는 분청사기로 유명한 지역이다.

시는 분청도자에 바쳤던 선인들의 예술혼을 계승 발전시키고 분청사기의 역사적 가치와 예술성을 널리 알리기 위해 분청도자기축제를 개최하고 분청도자박물관을 건립해 운영하고 있다.

이와 함께 2019년부터 지역 도자기 발전에 공헌한 최고 숙련기술인을 발굴하기 위해 ‘김해시 최고명장’을 선정하고 있으며 지금까지 모두 3명의 도예가가 명장으로 선정되어 지역 도자 발전에 힘쓰고 있다.

시 관계자는 “2천 년 동안 이어져 내려오는 김해 도자기의 정통성을 계승·발전시키고 있는 지역 도자문화의 우수성과 분청사기의 소박한 감성을 보다 널리 알리는 데 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
