브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= KT&G가 청년 창업가를 발굴하고 육성하는 ‘KT&G 상상스타트업캠프’ 8기 참가자를 오는 22일까지 모집한다.
이번 모집은 창업한 지 3년 이상 10년 이내의 시드 단계 팀을 위한 ‘그로스 트랙(Growth Track)’과, 글로벌 스타트업 시장에서 주목받는 인도네시아 진출을 희망하는 시드 단계 팀을 위한 ‘글로벌 트랙(Global Track)’의 두 가지 부문을 대상으로 진행된다.
선정된 팀에는 4개월간 체계적인 성장전략 수립을 위한 전문가 멘토링과 역량강화 교육이 제공된다. 그로스 트랙 선정 팀에는 최대 5000만 원의 사업 지원금과 투자 유치 기회가 주어지며, 글로벌 트랙 선정 팀에는 인도네시아에 방문해 현지 업계 관계자 및 벤처 투자자와 네트워크를 형성할 기회가 부여된다.

조경웅 KT&G 상상플래닛 운영총괄 팀장은 “KT&G는 창업을 통해 사회혁신을 꿈꾸는 청년들의 성장을 돕고자 차별화된 창업 인큐베이팅 프로그램을 운영해오고 있다”며 “미래 주역인 청년들이 지역사회에 건강한 영향력을 발휘할 수 있도록 앞으로도 지원을 아끼지 않을 것이다”고 말했다.
한편, ‘KT&G 상상스타트업캠프’는 사회문제를 비즈니스를 통해 해결하고자 하는 청년 창업 지원 프로그램이다. 전문가 멘토링과 실전 교육 등을 통해 젊은이들이 사회혁신 창업가로 발돋움하는 데 실질적 도움을 주기 위해 마련됐다.
2017년부터 운영을 시작해 지난해 3월까지 7개 기수를 운영한 가운데, 작년까지 총 144개 창업팀을 배출했으며, 누적 매출 420억원 이상과 830여 명의 고용효과를 창출했다.
정부의 ‘사회적 기업 육성사업’에 36개 팀이 진입하는 성과도 거뒀다. KT&G는 이러한 공로를 인정받아 2022년 ‘일자리창출 유공’ 대통령 표창 및 2021년 ‘사회적경제 유공자’ 대통령 표창을 수상했다.
