브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국민의힘 인천 계양을 후보인 원희룡 전 국토교통부 장관의 후원회장을 맡고 있는 이천수 전 국가대표 축구선수가 지난 7일 선거 유세를 돕다 폭행과 협박을 당했다.
원희룡 전 장관은 8일 오전 자신의 페이스북을 통해 "7일 오후 2시경 이천수 후원회장이 임학동에서 드릴을 든 남성에게 '두고보자, 내가 너의 집도 알고 와이프와 애들이 어디 사는지도 안다'며 협박했다"고 밝혔다.
그는 또한 "(같은 날 오전) 계양역에서 출근 인사를 하는 중에는 한 남성이 이천수 후원회장에게 악수를 청하며 손을 잡고는 허벅지를 무릎으로 가격하자, '하지 마세요'라고 했음에도 추가 가격을 시도했다"고 적었다.
그러면서 "이는 명백한 범죄다. 절대로 용납될 수 없다. 절대로 용납하지 않겠다"고 강조했다.
아울러 "폭행과 협박을 당한 이천수 후원회장에게는 면목이 없다"면서 "이런 일이 다시는 일어나지 않도록 모든 방법을 강구하겠다"고 약속했다.
다만 이천수 전 선수측은 폭행과 협박에 대한 '형사 고발' 여부에 대해 "검토 중이지 않다"고 설명하며 "정신적 충격이 당연히 있지만 그럼에도 선거 유세는 계속하고 있다"고 전했다.
