브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= KT는 노바테크와 물류로봇 플랫폼 공동개발과 사업화에 나선다고 13일 밝혔다.
양사는 물류로봇 플랫폼사업 추진을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결하고, △로봇 기반 물류 자동화 플랫폼 개발을 위한 공동 연구 △물류자동화 시스템과 로봇 관제/분석 시스템의 결합 △이기종 멀티로봇관리시스템(FMS)과 로봇제어시스템(RCS) 간 연동 개발 △창고관리시스템(WMS), 창고제어시스템(WCS)과 연계한 물류 E2E(End-to-End) 자동화 솔루션 개발 △국내 및 글로벌 시장 조기 진출을 위한 실증사업 등을 조속히 추진하기로 했다.
노바테크는 로봇 기반의 물류자동화, 디지털트윈 기술을 바탕으로 산업현장의 안전성과 생산성을 강화시킬 수 있는 혁신적인 제품과 서비스를 꾸준히 개발하고 공급해 온 회사다. 특히, 현대차 터키·울산·싱가포르·광저우·조지아 공장과 한화비전 시카고 창고 등 여러 곳의 물류 자동화 시스템을 전문적으로 개발, 공급하고 있다.
이번 협약 체결에 따라 KT와 노바테크 양사는 공동 개발한 구축형(On-Premise) 기반 물류 자동화 시스템으로 먼저 국내 제조·창고 물류시장에 진입하고, 이종 멀티·군집 로봇 제어, AI 시뮬레이터 기능 고도화와 클라우드 기반 관제·분석 시스템 구축으로 해외 시장에도 본격적으로 도전하겠다는 목표다.
또한, 물류 자동화 공정에 최적화된 무인지게차, 피킹로봇, 저상형로봇 등 다양한 물류로봇 포트폴리오를 확보하고, KT 연구개발센터와 노바테크 물류센터 등에 물류로봇 테스트필드를 구축할 예정이다.
KT 로봇사업단장 이상호 상무는 “현대자동차, 한화비전 등 대기업 국내외 물류로봇 제어시스템 구축 경험을 보유한 노바테크와 서비스 로봇 관제·분석 및 AICT(AI+ICT) 노하우를 보유한 KT가 물류 자동화 비즈니스 모델을 함께 만들어 감으로써 상호간 최적의 시너지 효과를 예상한다”며 “앞으로도 양사간 협업으로 구현될 E2E 물류로봇 자동화 플랫폼이 국내를 넘어 글로벌 시장까지 안착하기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
