대통령실이 17일 민생토론회 관권선거 논란에 "구체적 장소·시기는 사안 중요성·시급성·지자체 노력·대책 적실성 등을 종합 고려해 결정되고 있다"고 밝혔다.
성태윤 대통령실 정책실장은 이날 오후 용산 대통령실 브리핑에서 "민생토론회는 일체 정치적 고려 없이 국민들이 제시한 주제와 직결되는 민생현장서 개최 중"이라며 야권 주장을 일축했다.
그러면서 "정부는 국민들 생생한 목소리를 듣고 문제 해결책을 마련한다는 국정기조에 따라 민생토론회를 연중 지속할 것"이라며 "개최 장소도 대통령께서 14일 무안에서 '이번뿐 아닌 전남서 여러 차례 열 것'이라고 말씀한 바 같이 다양한 장소에서 보다 다양한 목소리를 듣기 위해 최대한 많은 지역을 방문 계획"이라고 전했다.
또 "총선 이후 민생토론회는 기존 민생과제 발굴·현장 해결 방식과 더불어 그간 진행상황을 점검 보완하는 후속조치를 병행함으로써 국민께서 빠른 시간 내 성과를 체감하실 수 있도록 하겠다"고 밝혔다.
이어 민생토론회 의의를 국민이 참여하는 정책 프로세스·부처별 업무보고 업그레이드·행동하는 정부 국정기조 구현 플랫폼 등으로 설명했다.
더불어 "누군가 해야 한다면 바로 지금 우리가 한다는 각오로 토론·검토에 그치지 않고 해답을 제시하는 과거 정부와 차별화된 윤석열 정부 소통 플랫폼"이라고 덧붙였다.
성 실장은 지난 15~20차 민생토론회를 통해 충남 군사시설보호구역 해제와 대구 교통·산업 인프라 개선, 인천 물류·해운산업 혁신, 강원 데이터·관광산업 육성, 전남 우주산업·어업 경쟁력 강화 등 각 지역 요청 및 청년 생활부담 감경 등 민생 현장 목소리를 정책화했다고 전했다.
또 지난 1월 윤 대통령이 국무회의에서 지시한 '91개 부담금 원점 재검토' 관련해선 "기획재정부에서 민관 TF 구성 등 사전작업에 착수해 두 차례 관계차관회의 및 한 차례 비상경제장관회의를 거쳐 조만간 전체 부담금 정비·개별부담금 경감 관련 구체적 내용을 발표 예정"이라며 "금번 부담금 정비는 윤 대통령이 지시한 국민부담 완화란 대원칙에 따라 모든 부담금을 원점서 재검토 하는 것"이라고 전했다.
