세종시교육청(이하 교육청)과 세종시청(이하 시청)이 21일에 세종시교육청 교육정책연구소에서 교육발전특구 기본구상 연구용역 착수보고회를 열었다.
착수보고회는 공동수급체 주관사인 충북대학교 산학협력단 이길재 교수와 공동수급사인 한국교원대학교 김용 교수의 용역 추진 방향 보고에 이어 질의응답 순으로 진행되었다.
이번 연구용역의 주요 과업은 세종시 교육현황 조사 및 특성 분석, 의견수렴, 지역 산업과 연계된 교육발전특구의 전망(비전), 목표, 전략, 중장기 이행안(로드맵) 제시 등이다.
세종형 교육발전특구는 모든 학생이 고루 혜택을 누릴 수 있는 세종 교육발전특구 추진, 공교육의 범위를 확대한 평생학습도시 세종의 생태계 구축, 시민사회와 공론화 과정을 거쳐 공감대를 형성하는 협치(거버넌스) 구축, 지역 주도의 ‘지역인재양성-취·창업-정주’라는 선순환 체제 구축 등의 방안으로 추진된다.
교육청은 세종형 교육발전특구 추진을 위해 유치원부터 초·중·고까지 연계된 세종창의적 교육과정 운영, 유·보통합, 돌봄정책 등을 통하여 학생들이 안정적인 환경 속에서 배움과 성장에 이를 수 있도록 지원하고 있다.
또한, 특성화고등학교, 교과목 중점 고등학교 등은 학생들이 자신의 적성에 맞는 진로를 선택하여 성장할 수 있도록 다양하고 특색있는 교육과정을 운영하고 있다.
교육청은 교육주체의 다양한 의견을 듣고 시청과 협업하여 이번 연구용역을 9월까지 체계적으로 추진할 계획이다.
이를 토대로 학생들의 성장을 지원하기 위한 방향성을 설정함과 동시에 오는 6월에 예정된 교육발전특구 공모사업에 시와 함께 협력하여 응모할 예정이다.
