이재명 발 사법리스크와 거대 야당의 발목잡기 심판론, 국민의힘은 지난달까지 흥취(興醉) 했었다. 총선을 20여 일 남긴 시점에서 각종 여론조사는 국민의힘의 참패를 예고한다. 어찌 된 일인가?
첫째는 두 해를 넘기고도 민생은 더욱 강퍅해지는 데 대한 유권자의 엄중한 경고다. 둘째는 용산대통령실과 한동훈 비대위원장의 전략적 동거 이면에 도사린 극우와 보수개혁의 가치관 충돌이다. 선거는 야단법석(野壇法席)이 기초 전제돼야 한다. 즉, 고승이 헐벗고 굶주린 백성에게 법문을 설파하기 위해 시장바닥 사거리의 단상에 올라 대자대비 광명이세의 세평(世平) 방도를 입술이 마르게 내놓으라는 의미다.
이재명의 백현동 개발 비리와 조국 일가의 입학자료 위조 제출로 민주당은 참패할 것이라는 민심이 뒤집어졌다. 면죄부는 아니지만, ‘작은 죄에 사약을 내리는 재판부’는 공정하지 못한 어용이라는 심증을 굳힌 국민이 많다.
왜? 대통령 장모의 1년 형은 위증 서류 불법 대출로 문어발 투자로 부당이득이 수백억이 넘는 금융 중죄범으로서 10년 이상 처벌 가능한데도 방면했다. 김건희 여사의 도이치모터스 주가조작으로 22억 이익을 낸 게 밝혀졌다. 검찰은 손을 놓고 있다. 이 또한 중범죄다. 여기에 과거 학위 대필 의혹 및 표절을 받고 있는데, 수사하면 조국 일가 못지 않은 공정증서원본 부실기재 및 동행사로 큰 죄다. 대통령 처가 부인 발 중죄가 이재명과 조국 일가 혐의보다 더 크다고 믿는 국민이 많아졌다.
여야 피장파장, 과거 또는 현재 진행 중인 재판 결과는 야당에 정의롭지 못하고 폭압적 린치를 가하는데 국민이 뿔났다. 오히려 이번 총선에서 극우 극좌를 제외하곤, 중도 부동층에선 범죄의 등가로 인식 투표 요인 잣대를 거두었다. 막말로 컨닝해서 들어간 것도 아닌데, 우수한 성적으로 의사 면허증을 받은 조민 씨를 미디어 살인한 것은 중도의 반발을 크게 불러일으켰다.
개인적으로, 아들이 수학 과학 영재로서 모 대학 석사 준비 중이다. 전업주부인 나로선 중고생 때 매주 학교에 나가 큰 독서실 청소를 해야 했다. 왜? 혹여 생기부에 엉뚱한 평가가 적힐까봐 청소 노예를 상위권 학부모 주도하여 7명의 부모가 그래야 했다. 맹렬 학부모가 되면, 고 박원순 서울시장의 표창장도 받은 지인이 있다.
전체를 봐야지, 꼬투리로 젊은 의사를 고졸로 격하시켜 인민재판으로 모진 시선들로 확인 사살한 이 정권은 과유불급이다. 이제 그 부메랑은 대통령 장모와 부인에게도 똑같은 잣대로 차기 정권 특검감이다. 오십보백보 행태다. 이중 편중 잣대를 들이댔다.
조국신당이 민주 위성정당을 앞서는 현상은 무얼 말하는가? 원래 세상은 혼탁하고 약육강식 정글의 법칙을 피할 수 없다. 국민의힘은 야권지지 쌍발 상승에 초조해하고 민주당은 손에 이미 떡을 들고 있는데도 조국신당에 전략적 견제구를 날린다. 151석을 달라는데, 어차피 국회에서 과반 찬성과 압도적 다수 지지세를 얻기 위해선 조국신당과 연리지(連理枝) 4팔을 만들 수순만 남아 있다.
용감한 윤석열 정권 검찰의 야당탄압(?)은 조자룡 헌 칼이 됐고, 국민의 야당에 대한 동정 연민을 불러일으킨 것은 분명해 보인다. 경제와 민생을 살리랬더니, 동네 깡패집단처럼 관할 상납 구역을 놓고 싸움질로 허비하는 동안 고금리와 불황으로 서민은 가사(死) 상태로 전락했다. 공무원과 대기업만 육아휴직이 가능한 상황에서, 가난한 월급쟁이 커플은 결혼도 출산도 그냥 꿈일 뿐이다.
필자가 지난 칼럼을 통해 여러 번 강조했듯이, 신생아 1인당 1억 원 지급이면 미성년 신분인 18세까지 큰 양육 도움이 된다. 지금 시작해도 18년 지나야 출산율을 높여, 외국인 노동자가 본국에 송금하는 수조 원을 막을 수 있다. 또한, 540만여 명의 극빈 노인층 노령연금을 월 50만 원 정도로 인상해야 한다. 두 정책을 다 펴는데 한해 25조면 충분하다.
윤석열 정부가 잘했다고 국민의 75% 이상이 찬성했던 의대 정원 2천 명 증원은 설익은 준비로 인해 애꿎은 환자와 그 가족들을 애태우고 있다. 상위 1% 안에 들어야 의대에 간다. 초중고 1%는 결국 3%의 학생 부모들과 현 의사 수만 명의 가족까지 적으로 만들었다. 여론주도층의 입김은 세다. 교각살우 하려다 뿔에 받혔으니, 강남 8학군 여론조사도 야당에 턱밑까지 추격당하는 형국이다. 답은 증원 한해 천명으로 늘리고 의사협과 대화로 풀어야 한다. 선생님(?)들이 등 돌리면 보수의 아성은 쉽게 무너진다.
이번 총선에서 또 하나의 특징은 경제정책 무능과 부자 감세 복지 퇴행에다 출마자들의 퇴행적 반국가 반서민 반상식적 발언이 자충수를 뒀다는 것이다. 나베라 일컬어지던 모 출마자와 성일종 의원의 일제 총독부의 조선 민중 개돼지 상태를 해방시킨 은인으로 추켜세우는 망언도 반 여당 정서에 불을 붙였다. 사퇴한 황상무 수석의 언론인 회칼 테러 전두환 시절 언론인에 대한 사실상 선전포고이자 살해 협박이었다. 살해 공표 예비음모죄로 처벌해야 한다.
호주로 갔다가 공관장 회의를 빙자하여 슬그머니 귀국한 호주대사 이종섭의 박정훈 대령의 보고 묵살 및 은폐 축소는 군인의 명예와 신뢰를 짓밟았다. 또한 수십만의 입영 대상 가족에게도 공포와 분노를 안겼다. 어찌, 자기 부하인 채상병을 대명천지에, 강에 빠뜨려 죽이고도 사과 없이 대사란 꽃가마 위에 앉아 모르쇠로 일관한단 말인가?
‘나는 임차인입니다’라며, 세입자를 능멸했던 땅희숙도 공천이 잘못됐다. 늙은 부모까지 동원하여 수십억의 자산을 가졌으면서도, 심심찮게 굶어 죽고 번개탄 피워 동반자살 하는 낡은 빌라 가족이 안 보이는가?
무엇보다도 기가 막히는 것은, 윤 대통령이 대형마트에 생필품 가격 동향 파악하러 나간 자리에서 대파 한 단을 집어 들고, 한 단에 853원이면 합리적인 가격이라며 확대 지시를 하는 걸 보곤 아연실색했다. 대파 뿌리 칠팔 개 든 것이 보통 삼사천 원한다. 나는 50년 넘게 내 손으로 나와 가족을 위해 요리해왔다. 어제도 마트에 갔다 왔다. 비싸서 흙 묻은 이월상품 매대에서 대파 한 단을 샀다. 3,400원이다. 부디, 대통령께서는 양복쟁이 공무원보다 서민들에게 묻길 바란다. 경호상 만난 대화가 어려우면, 가장 물가가 싸다는 쿠팡 앱에 들어가 양파 값을 첵크하기를 촉구한다. 면종복배(面從腹背) 아첨꾼만 득실거리는 휘하들의 입만 쳐다보지 마시고, ‘쿠팡 all mighty’로 서민물가를 파악하시길….samsohun@naver.com
