【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=한국수력원자력(사장 황주호, 이하 한수원)은 지난 22일(현지시간) 벨기에 브뤼셀에서 국제적 핵연료 및 서비스 공급사인 유렌코(Urenco)와 안정적인 원전연료 공급을 위한 장기 원전연료 공급계약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

26일 한수원에 따르면 유렌코는 우라늄 농축 및 연료 제품을 공급하는 다국적 기업으로, 영국 정부, 네덜란드 정부, 독일 주요 원전사업자그룹이 공동으로 지분을 소유하고 있으며, 영국, 네덜란드, 독일과 미국에 농축시설을 운영하고 있다.
한수원은 1993년부터 유렌코에서 농축우라늄을 수입하고 있으며 이번 계약을 통해 장기적인 연료 수급 안정성을 한층 높일 수 있게 됐다.
