윤석열 대통령이 5일 "서울·부산을 양 축으로 지역이 균형발전하려면 부산 의료 인프라가 튼튼해야 한다"며 부산대병원 병동 신축에 대한 전폭 예산 지원 의사를 밝혔다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오후 부산대학병원 권역외상센터를 방문해 이같이 밝혔다고 김수경 대통령실 대변인이 브리핑에서 전했다. 정성운 부산대병원장이 "부산대 병원이 심사평가원 평가에서 비수도권 병원 중 유일하게 계속 최고 등급을 한 번도 놓치지 않은 실력 있는 병원이지만 공간 부족 문제가 있다"며 병동을 신축해 지역 거점병원으로서 역할을 할 수 있도록 정부 재정 지원을 건의하자 윤 대통령이 화답한 것이다.
