브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성전자는 정부의 ‘저소득층 에너지효율개선사업’ 냉방 지원기기 보급 사업자로 3년 연속 선정됐다고 8일 밝혔다.
‘저소득층 에너지효율개선사업’은 산업통상자원부 산하 한국에너지재단이 주관하는 복지 사업으로, 폭염 등에 취약한 에너지 소외계층의 에너지 사용 환경 개선을 위해 고효율 냉·난방기 교체 등을 지원한다.
삼성전자는 이달부터 전국 약 229개 기초지방단체에서 선정한 1만8000여 가구에 고효율의 ‘AI 무풍 벽걸이’ 에어컨을 공급할 예정이다.
‘AI 무풍 벽걸이’는 무풍 모드 사용 시 MAX(최대) 냉방 대비 최대 77%까지 소비전력을 절감할 수 있다. 강력한 급속 냉방으로 온도를 낮춘 후 전력 사용량이 비교적 적은 무풍냉방으로 냉기를 유지할 수 있어 효율적이다. 또한, AI 절약 모드를 활용하면 추가로 에너지를 절감할 수 있어 전기요금 부담을 덜어준다.
삼성전자 한국총괄 오치오 부사장은 “고효율의 AI 무풍 벽걸이 에어컨을 생산부터 설치까지 적기에 진행할 수 있는 인프라를 구축했다”며 “삼성전자 에어컨이 에너지 취약계층의 건강한 여름나기에 도움이 되길 진심으로 바란다”고 말했다.
