브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= KT&G장학재단이 경제적 어려움을 겪는 대학생을 지원하기 위해 ‘2024년도 대학 상상장학생’을 모집한다.
‘대학 상상장학생’은 국내 대학교에 재학 중인 기초생활수급자와 차상위계층 학생을 대상으로 하며, 오는 29일까지 KT&G장학재단 홈페이지를 통해 지원할 수 있다.
선발된 장학생 200명에게는 1인당 300만원의 장학금과 다양한 문화체험 학습 활동을 할 수 있는 온라인 상상장학캠프 참여 기회가 제공된다. 약 1100여 권의 도서가 수록되어 있는 KT&G장학재단 홈페이지 내 전자도서관도 이용 가능하다.
KT&G장학재단은 지원자의 신청자격과 학습계획 등을 공정하게 심사해 오는 5월 7일 홈페이지와 개별 연락을 통해 최종 선발 결과를 발표할 예정이다.
안홍필 KT&G장학재단 사무국장은 “우수한 인재들이 어려운 환경 속에서도 배움의 꿈을 포기하지 않도록 매년 ‘상상장학생’을 선발하여 지원하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 차별화된 장학사업을 통해 역량 있는 미래 세대에 대한 지원을 아끼지 않을 것이다”고 말했다.
한편, 2008년 설립된 KT&G장학재단은 교육 소외계층 지원과 미래 인재 육성을 위해 국내외에서 다양한 장학사업을 펼치고 있다. 또한, 한국메세나협회와 함께 매년 문화예술 분야 장학생을 지원하며 청소년 예술인 발굴에도 기여하고 있다. 재단 설립 이후 작년 말까지 누적 장학금 지원 규모는 435억원에 달하며, 장학생 수는 1만 명을 돌파했다.
