동국대 WISE캠퍼스, SMR 특강 개최...‘모두가 공감하는 원자력의 길’

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대 WISE캠퍼스 해오름동맹 원자력혁신센터는 오는 5월 22일 오전 10시 30분 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 글로벌에이스홀(원효관 4층)에서 ‘모두가 공감하는 원자력의 길’이라는 주제로 SMR 특강을 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 특강은 원전산업정책연구센터 박원석 센터장(전 원자력연구원장)을 초청해 ‘모두가 공감하는 원자력의 길’이라는 주제로 진행하며 경주시민, 대학생 등 SMR에 관심 있는 사람이면 누구나 참석할 수 있다.

박원석 센터장은 이번 강연에서 기후위기 시대에 인류를 구할 핵심 에너지원인 원자력이 왜 논쟁의 중심에 서 있는지, 무엇이 문제인지 그리고 그 해결책은 무엇인지에 대해 강연한다.

동국대 WISE캠퍼스 반상우 해오름동맹 원자력혁신센터장은 “이번 강연에서는 원자력과 SMR이 기후위기 극복을 위해 얼마나 중요한지, 그리고 원자력 발전이 나아갈 방향과 미래에 관해 이야기하고자 한다며, ”원자력과 SMR에 대해 이해하는 좋은 시간이 되었으면 한다”고 말했다.

동국대 WISE캠퍼스 해오름동맹 원자력혁신센터는 ㈜한국수력원자력과 해오름동맹 3개 지자체(경주, 포항, 울산)의 예산 지원으로 3개 시에 소재하고 있는 6개 대학(동국대 WISE캠퍼스, 위덕대, 포항공대, 한동대, UNIST, 울산대)에서 수행하고 있는 3개 분야(원전지역 특화연구, 지역협력전략연구, 지역수용성 증진연구)의 33개 세부사업을 지원하고 있다.

This special lecture will be held under the theme of ‘The path to nuclear power that everyone can agree on’ by inviting Park Won-seok, director of the Nuclear Power Plant Industry Policy Research Center (former director of the Atomic Energy Research Institute), and anyone interested in SMR, including Gyeongju citizens and college students, can attend.

In this lecture, Center Director Park Won-seok will talk about why nuclear energy, a key energy source that will save humanity in the era of climate crisis, is at the center of controversy, what the problem is, and what the solution is.

Dongguk University WISE Campus Haeoreum Alliance Nuclear Innovation Center is a project of six universities (Dongguk University WISE Campus, Widuk University, Pohang University of Science and Technology, Dongguk University WISE Campus, Widuk University, Pohang University of Science and Technology) located in three cities with budget support from Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. and three local governments of Haeoreum Alliance (Gyeongju, Pohang, and Ulsan).
