[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 23일 아동친화도시 진주시가 ‘제14회 2024 한국의 가장 사랑받는 브랜드 대상’에서아이 키우기 좋은 도시 부문 ‘대상’ 수상 지자체로 선정됐다고 밝혔다.
이번 대상 수상은 지난해 7월 4일 유니세프가 인증한 아동친화도시 선정, 다양한 보육 및 돌봄사업 추진에 대해 좋은 평가를 받은 결과로 지난 2020년부터 5년 연속 대상 수상의 영예를 안게 됐다.
올해로 14회째를 맞은 한국의 가장 사랑받는 브랜드 대상은 기업과 지자체, 공공기관을 대상으로 소비자의 직접투표와 학계의 공정한 심사를 통해 수상자를 선정하는 국내 최고 브랜드 대상이다.
시는 올해도 전년보다 85억원이 증가된 1481억원의 예산으로 경남 최초 남·여 쉼터 운영 등 모든 아동의건강하고 안전한 보육 및 돌봄환경 조성으로 아동의 복지증진에 최선을 다한다는 방침이다.
진주시는 자체적으로 추진하는 보육 및 돌봄 관련 특수시책사업은 전국 최초 실시 보육시스템인 365일 24시 시간제 보육사업, 진주형 공유 어린이집인 ‘구슬모음 어린이집’ 운영도 진행하고 있다.
특히 시는 장애아동의 건강한 성장 발달을 위한 장애아 통합어린이집 치료사 지원 및 장애영유아 장난감·특수교구 대여 사업, 육아종합지원센터 운영, 함께 나눠 더 행복한 장난감은행 등 다양한 정책을 벌이고 있다.
진주시 진종삼 과장은 “아동이 존중받고 보호받는 환경을 조성하기 위해 보육 및 돌봄의 공공성을 확장하는 시책을 지속해서 발굴해 아이와 부모가 바라는 안심 보육 및 돌봄환경 조성에 최선을 다할 것”이라고 말했다.
