김효숙 의원은 “올해 학습준비물 지원비가 초등·특수학생 28,000원, 중학생 18,000원, 고등학생 7,000원으로 전년 대비 30%~10% 감소하면서 전국 17개 시도교육청 중 초등학생 학습준비물 1인당 지원 단가 최하위를 기록하게 됐다”고 말했다.
행정사무감사 자료에 따르면 세종시교육청은 학습준비물 지원을 지난 2014년 초등학생을 대상으로 개시한 이후, 2015년 초 ·중학생으로까지 확대했으며, 2016년에는 고등학생 및 특수학교 학생까지 범위를 확대했다.
