[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 야생동물로 인한 농작물 피해 최소화를 위해 오는 7월부터 내년 6월까지 1년간 ‘유해야생동물 피해방지단’(이하 피해방지단)을 운영한다고 25일 밝혔다.
이번 포획 대상 동물은 멧돼지, 고라니, 까치 등 유해야생동물로 아프리카돼지열병(ASF) 예방을 위해 멧돼지를 집중 포획할 방침이며, 공개모집을 통해 전문 수렵인 50명을 선발했다.
시는 안전사고 예방과 신속한 유해야생동물 포획을 위해 25일 농업기술센터 농업인교육장에서 포획작업 간 안전수칙 준수, 피해방지단 활동 요령 등에 대한 교육을 진행했다.
시는 피해방지단의 포획 활동과 사기 진작을 위해 수렵보험료, 피복비, 유류비 등을 지원하고 포획 시 멧돼지 5만원, 고라니 3만원의 보상금을 지급한다.
