윤석열 대통령이 28일 용산 대통령실에서 방한한 애브릴 헤인스 미국 국가정보국(DNI) 국장을 접견할 것으로 알려졌다.
DNI는 미 중앙정보국(CIA)·연방수사국(FBI) 등 미 16개 정보기관을 총괄하는 컨트롤타워로 '정보 차르'로 불리는 DNI 수장에 여성이 오른 건 헤인스 국장이 최초다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오후 헤인스 국장을 만나 최근 북·러 간 '포괄적 전략 동반자 협정' 체결 등 북한 문제 관련 민감 정보를 공유하면서 향후 한·미 간 대응 방안을 논의할 걸로 보인다.
더불어 우크라이나에 대한 우리 정부 무기 지원 재검토 방침과 국제사회의 유엔(UN) 안보리 대북제재 결의 이행을 감시해온 대북제재위 전문가 패널이 지난 4월 러시아 반대로 해체된 데 따른 후속 대책 역시 협의할 거란 관측도 나온다.
