브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= HD현대오일뱅크가 창립 60주년을 맞아 충남 대산 공장 본사에서 ‘창립 60주년 기념식’을 진행했다.
창립기념식에는 주영민 대표이사와 임직원, 우수 거래처 등 약 300여 명이 참석한 가운데, 차분한 분위기에서 진행됐다. 이 날 행사에서는 장기근속 임직원 337명과 우수 거래처 9개사에 포상금이 지급됐다.
주영민 대표이사는 창립기념사를 통해 “그동안 HD현대오일뱅크의 발전을 위해 헌신한 수 많은 임직원과 가족 여러분께 깊은 감사를 드린다”며 “경쟁사가 경험하지 못했던 역사의 고난을 슬기롭게 헤쳐오면서 130만평, 하루 69만 배럴 규모의 종합 에너지 기업으로 성장할 수 있었다”고 말했다.
HD현대오일뱅크는 1964년 충남 대산에서 국내 최초 민간 자본 정유회사로 시작해 HD현대쉘베이스오일, HD현대케미칼 등 합작회사를 설립하며 종합 에너지 회사로 성장했다. 특히, 41.7%의 국내 최고 수준의 고도화율을 기반으로 지난 23년 매출액 28조를 달성하는 등 글로벌 에너지 기업으로 발돋움했다.
주영민 대표이사는 “최근 에너지 전환, 어려운 시장 지표 등 우리를 둘러싼 대내외 환경이 녹록지 않다”며 “회사의 흥망을 가르는 변곡점 위에서 ‘우리다움을 잃지 않으면서 변화를 선도하겠다’라는 의지를 다시 한번 다지자”고 당부했다.
한편, HD현대오일뱅크는 최근 친환경 종합 에너지 기업으로의 변화를 가속화하고 있다. 차세대 화이트 바이오 사업은 그 중 하나로, 바이오디젤-바이오항공유-바이오케미칼로 이어지는 3단계 로드맵을 이어나가고 있다. 올해 초에는 바이오 연산 13만 톤 규모의 바이오디젤 공장을 상업가동하고 국내 최초로 일본에 지속 가능 항공유(SAF)를 수출을 시작했다.
